It is possible to explore the Monte Nieddu massif of Padru through 4x4 tours, which minimise physical effort while allowing visitors to discover two of Pitrisconi’s most beautiful highlights: the Pala di Monti panoramic viewpoint and the impressive 20-metre-high waterfall. The tours last half a day and usually depart from San Teodoro, although alternative arrangements can be made depending on individual needs.
We will travel along the long and scenic dirt road leading to the Pitrisconi 'Stazzo'. From there, a short 5-minute walk takes us to the natural pool and the large waterfall. The scenery is stunning, and here we can take photos and enjoy a refreshing swim. The 4x4 tour then continues towards the Pala di Monti panoramic viewpoint, considered one of the most spectacular spots along the entire coastline.
From here, we can admire the whole Monte Nieddu massif, the majestic islands of Tavolara and Molara, and enjoy the magnificent crystal-clear waters of Lu Impostu and Cala Brandinchi, Capo Coda Cavallo, and Santa Lucia. At the viewpoint, we can use the picnic tables for a tasting of wine, cheeses, and cured meats.
What to bring
Remember to bring a swimsuit and a towel, season-appropriate clothing, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
How difficult it is
The excursion is suitable for anyone in good physical condition. It is ideal for families and seniors. To reach the pools, a short 300-metre walk is required; this is optional, and those who are unable to do it can wait for the group comfortably seated in the shade.

Monte Nieddu can be very hot during the summer, but on cloudy and windy days it is advisable to wear clothing suitable for the conditions. Although only a 300-metre walk is required to reach the pool where you can swim, the trail should not be taken lightly; therefore, trekking shoes are recommended.
